This past week I discovered that Google Street View now covered most of the route I will be travelling during my "planned" 2011 Alaska trip. The night I discovered this wonderful thing, I stayed up way too late exploring my future adventure trip route. This is actually good news. Even though it seems like being able to see the route ahead of time will take the "adventure" part out of the trip, it will actually help me to be able to make the trip better for myself by being able to prepare more completely for it. It has me really excited now, too, now that I can see where I'll be going, and what I'll be seeing. I'd love leaving now, but seeing that it's the middle of winter, I'll have to wait. Also, the funds aren't quite where I need them yet, I don't have all the equipment I will be needing, and I'll be needing some skills that I haven't acquired yet. I guess it's good that I have a year to prepare for this endeavor.
